-ورابعها أنَّه كتاب تعريفيّ، لأنّه مصدر من مصادر التعرُّف على عَلَم من أعلام التُّراث العربيّ في فنّ الترسُّل، ألا وهو "عبد الرحمن البسطاميّ الأنطاكي المَوْلِد، الحنفيّ المذهب (؟- 858هـ/ ؟- 1454م).
يحتوي على سِتّ وأربعين لطيفةً، ائتلفت كُلُّ واحدة من ترسُّل بديع، يعقبه حكاية ونُكتة وأخبار وأشعار تتساوق والغرض الذي رمى إليه المؤلف.
