أرسل الله جل جلاله رسوله محمداً صلى الله عليه وسلم هادياً ومبشراً ونذيراً وأيده بالوحي وجعله سيد الأولين والآخرين، وأنزل عليه القرآن الكريم الذي لا يأتيه الباطل من بين يديه ولا من خلفه. والمؤلف محمود عبد الحميد الأحمد وقد هاله ما حوت بعض المؤلفات من الدس والافتراء على دين الله وعلى أنبيائه صلوات الله عليهم أجمعين فقد عزم على أن يرد التهم الشنيعة التي ألصقها أعداء الإسلام بأنبياء الله فنفى في مؤلفه الإسرائيليات والخرافات والأساطير التي تمكنت من عقول بعض الناس حتى أصبحت وكأنها حقيقة لا غبار عليها.
وقد مهد لكتابه بتبيان صفات الأنبياء وخصائص الدعوة التي جاء بها كل واحد منهم، ثم ينتقل بعد ذلك للتعريف بسورة الأنبياء مبيناً ما فيها من إنذار بقرب الساعة وإنكار المشركين لنبوة محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم لأنه بشر مثلهم والرد على هذه الشبهة بأن الأنبياء جميعاً كانوا بشراً وأهل العلم من اليهود والنصارى يعلمون ذلك حق العلم. وقد قدم المؤلف كل ذلك بأسلوب علمي جذاب يسهل على القارئ مهمة الفهم والاستيعاب.
تتسم القصة في القرآن الكريم بصفات خاصة، وتنحو منحىً معيناً في خدمة أهداف الهداية الربانية، فهي تربي المؤمن تربية تقوم على إعانة الله وعنايته، وتساهم فيما يرمي إليه القرآن من الوعظ والنصح، وتمدّه بالصبر الذي يقوي من عزيمته لمتابعة الحياة.
وهذا الكتاب يقف عند جهاد الأنبياء من خلال قصصهم في السورة المسماة باسمهم، لينظر في قصصهم من زاوية أهدافها العامة، لا يقف عند دراستها الفنية، بل ليستخلص منها ما رمت إليه من لباب ينبغي أن نتفهمه.
