إن المتأمل في أسلوب الأدب الرسولي لمحمد صلى الله عليه وسلم يجد أنه السهل الممتنع، والبلاغة القريبة البعيدة النفّاذة، والفصاحة المعجزة الرائعة الأخاذة والنمط الغريب، والطريقة المحكمة والنظم العجيب. إنه أسلوب بهر العرب رونقه، وخلب ألبابهم جرسُهُ ووقعُهُ، وملك نفوسهم ما فيه من جمال اللفظ وبراعة الصورة وسموّ البيان وروعة الأداء وحسن التقسيم ودقة الصوغ وسرعة التأثير والنفاذ إلى أعماق القلوب.
كان يحكم كلامه صلى الله عليه وسلم في غير تعقيد ولا تكلّف، مع الوضوح والسلاسة، مع التخيّر والرونق، ومع العذوبة والجلالة، ومع الجزالة والقوة والإشراق وجودة التصوير والتأثير، وحسن الإفهام والمهابة مع تجنب سجع الكهان ومن شابههم. أما ألفاظه صلى الله عليه وسلم فقد نفى منها الحواشي والغريب، والمبتذل والساقط والمستكره، ونزهت عن الخطأ واللحن والقصور، واختيرت اختيار الطبع المتمكن والفطرة السليمة. وأما معانيه صلى الله عليه وسلم فهي الحكمة الصادقة والأدب الرفيع، والفصاحة الوهّاجة والحق المنزّه عن الريب، والهدى والنور، والرأي الناضج والبصيرة النافذة والإلهام الذي وهبه الله إياه، أدب الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم باختصار هو العقل الجبّار، والخيال الواسع الخفَّاق، والذوق الفني الرفيع الذي هو من أهم شروط البلاغة، والسلاسة العفوية البالغة في وصف المعاني والألفاظ معاً وموافقة كلامه لمقتضى الحال. وهذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا يضمّ حكماً جاءت عن الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم وهي توضح أدب الرسول وأخلاقه. وهذه الكلمات هي بعض ما استطاع المؤلف العثور عليه في بطون أمهات الكتب المعتبرة من تراث الرسول في الحكم.
