يعتبر هذا الكتاب مقدمة لقراءة وفهم التوراة والإنجيل الشريفين. لن يعثر القارئ في هذا الكتاب على دراسة نظرية أو منظومات مذهبية، ولكنه سيعثر على رحلة في "الكتاب المقدس" من بدايته إلى نهايته، وسيتم ذلك بطريق "الخطوة خطوة" وقد وزعت موضوعات الكتاب على 32 فصلاً يبدأ كل منهم بمقطع من الكتاب، وقد أردف كل مقطع بشرح مستفيض لدلالته العميقة، والمقاطع المختارة لا تمثل سوى جزء ضئيل من مجمل الكتاب المقدس لكن المؤلف قد حرص على أن يمثل كل مقطع جزءاً من أهم أجزاء الكتاب ويتبين من كل ذلك أن الهدف من هذا الكتاب هو إعطاء القارئ صورة مكتملة الوضوح علن الإنجيل والتوراة وسيكتشف القارئ وهو يقرأ فصول هذا الكتاب المستقاة عن التوراة والإنجيل أنهما يشتملان على حكايات كثيرة وأحداث مفصلة من تاريخ البشرية. فالكتابان معاً ليسا في الحقيقة سوى كتاب واحد يقود القارئ من بداية الخلق إلى نهاية الزمن والتاريخ.
