يحتوي هذا الكتاب على رسالتين الأولى جاءت بعنوان "المرقاة في إعراب لا إله إلا الله" وهي من إعداد العلامة شمس الدين محمد بن عبد الرحمن المعروف بابن الصائغ، وهي عبارة عن رسالة قيمة، تتطرق لإعراب الاسم الواقع بعد إله من كلمة التوحيد في قول "لا إله إلا الله" والرسالة الثانية حملت عنوان مسألة في كلمة الشهادة وهذه الأخيرة هي من تأليف العلامة محمود بن عمر الزمخشري، وهي عبارة عن تأليف مختصر يعني بإعراب الشهادة، ولأهمية هاتين الرسالتين اعتنى بجمعهما في هذا الكتاب مذيلاً كل واحدة منها بتحقيق لطيف هدفه توضيح ما أبهم من عبارات الرسالتين، وتفسير ما أشكل من نصوصها.
