بين "قوافل الريح" و"قوافل الموت" لا فرق عندما يكون الإنسان هو الثمن، وعليه فإذا كانت مفارقة الأرض، والارتحال من مكان إلى آخر للبحث عن الـ "مثيل" والـ "الآمن" في عوالم الآخر المجهولة هو المهرب؛ في تلك اللحظة، يفقد الوطن كل مقومات ألفته، ويكف عن منح أحاسيس الانتماء لبنيه، هذا ما يحاول قوله الروائي محمد تركي الدعفيس في رواية جاءت تحكي واقع الناس في ظلّ الثورة السورية، أو في جحيمها وهم يرزحون تحت سطوة معاناة سياسية مركبة شديدة الوطء، تتجلى آثارها السلبية بتدهور الأوضاع العامة للمجتمع والفرد.
من هنا، يمكن القول أن الروائي ينطلق من فكرة جوهرية نهضت على أساسها الحكاية، مفادها عدم إحساس الإنسان بوجوده في (المكان/الوطن) عندما تنتفي شروط وجوده الإنساني فيه، ولأن الحرب دائرة كؤوسها على الناس، اقتضى المقصد الحكائي إفراغ الوطن من البشر، قسراً لا طوعاً، ويفعل ذلك الروائي عبر راوي عليم مشارك سارد قادر على عرض الحكاية بانسيابية، بما فيها من شخصيات وأحداث روائية وزمان ومكان؛ إذ يواكب رحلة العبور لمجموعة من الناس تستقل شاحنة للهرب من مدينة درعا إلى الأردن وما يرافق هذه الرحلة من إحباطات ولحظات ضعف، ولحظات قوة، وسط أصوات الرصاص والقنابل والطائرات، وبهذا المعنى فالرواية تخترق قلب المأساة، تنفذ إلى صميمها، وتستقر في أتونها.
من أجواء الرواية نقرأ: "كم طعنةٌ غدرٍ يمكن لنا أن نحتمل في العمر؟!.
طُعنّا حين لم يتركوا لنا خياراً إلا الرحيل.. وطُعنّا حين حوّلونا إلى لاجئين، محضُ أرقامٍ وحسبْ، يتسولون بها وعليها، ثم يمنحونها الفتات.. وطُّعنّا حين تحولت جميلةٌ مثل عزيزة إلى سبيّة في بيت امتص شبابها بدل أن يحفظ جمالها، وألقاها بعد قليلٍ أطلال مطلّقة إلى الضياع.. وطُعنّا حين شردتِ الأزقة والخيام أطفالنا بدل أن تحتضنهم المنازل والمدارس.. وطُعنّا حين لم يبق لنا من الأمر سوى أن ننتظر الفجائع تتوالى كل يوم.. وطُعنّا حين صار الآخرون يقررون مصائرنا دون أن يكون لنا فيها حول ولا قوة".
