ولا مشاحة في أن لواء العظمة في العالم الآن معقود للأمم التي تتكلم الانجليزية، فسلطانها يملأ الأرض والماء والفضاء، ولذلك أصبح الالمام بلغتها وسيلة لا بد منها لمن أراد السير في موكب الحياة الزاخر من إقتباس علومها وآدابها التي هي سر عظمتها. لأن من أراد مجاراة غيره وجب عليه أن يخالطه ويعرف كيف يفكر ويعمل، ولا سبيل الى فهمه حق الفهم إلا بالالمام بلفته.
وهذا ما حدا بنا الى تأليف هذا الكتاب مستعينين على ذلك بأبنائها العارفين بأصولها، وبكتبها الكاشفة لأسرارها. وقد نال هذا الكتاب قبولاً منقطع النظير، نظراً لبساطته وسهولة ترتيبه وخلوه من التعقيد. وقد طبعناه هذه الطبعة بعد أن نقحناه وأضفنا اليه الكثير من التحسينات والمفردات ونماذج للمراسلات والخطابات؟
