تعتمد لعبة الأحرف عند الشاعر محمد سيدي على مباغتات شعرية ذات منحى فلسفي –تأملي يبحث بواسطتها الشاعر عن كنه الأشياء، مستهدفاً كل فكرة ساكنة ليكسر من خلالها المألوف في الحياة وفي الشعر معاً، في محاولة لاستدراج القارئ إلى عالمه هو/ عالم الشعر الذي يرى الأشياء؛ كما هي في الواقع من دون زخرفة ولا تكلف؛ فنراه يخاطب جبران قائلاً: "لجبران أن يفرق في رومانطيقيته/ ولي أن أغرق في واقعيتي/ كحنَا مينة إذ يحمل الأكياس/ في المرفأ/ ويمنَي نفسه بشراعٍ لا تقهره العاصفة". وأحياناً أخرى يرى نفسه "ملحمياً كدانتي أو هوميروس/ سريالياً كبريتون ورينيه شار/ متحولاً كأدونيس/ وحزيناً كأمل دنقل/ ونقياً وصافياً كعبد الله البردَوني".
يضم الديوان(46) قصيدة نثرية برع الشاعر في ضوغها وتقديمها في قالب شعري يشي بالتنوع ونضج التجربة، نذكر من عناوينها: "واقعية"، "مشهد جانبي"، "التحولات"، "موقف نقدي"، "هجائية"، لعبة الأحرف"، (...)، "الحزينة"، "صوت الماء"... الخ.
