إن الاهتمام بسلوك الفرد والجماعة لمن أهم الأمور التي ينبغي أن تتضافر الجهود حيالها، إذ تقاس المجتمعات رقياً وعدمه برفعة ذلك السلوك وعدمه. ولا شك أن الأخلاق الفاضلة والسلوك القديم والفقه والطهارة وحفظ الأعراض يصب في هذا الإطار بالإضافة إلى أن ذلك إنما هو من تراث الإيمان والعقيدة الحية، ودليل على كرامة الأمة وشرفها ونقاء معدنها.
وبالضد من ذلك فإن مرذول الأخلاق واعوجاج السلوك وتدنيس الأعراض واللهاث وراء سعار الشهوات إنما هو مدرجة لضياع الدين وفساد الاعتقاد ومحو شخصية الإنسان وآدميته ليتحول إلى كلب يلهث وحيوان يكدح ليس له قيم ولا قيمة ولا عزة ولا كرامة ولا نقاء ولا طهارة.
وإن أمة هذا حالها لا تستحق أن تعيش في عزة وإباء وسيادة وريادة؛ بل إن سنة الله في الحياة لتحتم تلاشي مثل هذه الأمة واندثارها، ولئن أمهلها الحق سبحانه، فلن يهملها ولن تفلت من عقابه. من هنا تأتي أهمية هذا الموضوع الذي يطرحه المؤلف في كتابه هذا على بساط البحث. وهو ولئن خشنت عبارته في بعض المقامات، واشتد قلمه في بعض الكلمات، فإنما وراء ذلك الحرص على أمته والخشية على شبابها، والرغبة في تحذيرهم من كل ما يضيرهم.
