كتابٌ جديدٌ قديمٌ عن دمشق، هو «القلائد الجوهرية في تاريخ الصالحية» الذي قلّد به ابن طولون الصالحي جِيدَ الصالحية، وقلّد برجالها جِيدَ دمشق، يصدر اليوم في نشرةٍ جديدةٍ ليست إعادةً لطبعة قديمة كما هي عادة أكثر المحقِّقين في إصدار القديم على أنه طبعة جديدة، ولكنه جديد فعلاً بما جاء فيه من زيادات جديرة بالتقدير. لقد صدر الكتاب أول مرة بتحقيق الأستاذ الشيخ محمد أحمد دهمان رحمه الله سنة (1949م)، وصدر قسمه الثاني سنة (1956م)، وأعاد مجمع اللُّغة العربية بدمشق نشره كاملاً سنة (1980م). وقد بذل الأستاذ دهمان فيه جُهداً مشكوراً، وهو عالم محقِّق معروف بالدقة والأمانة، ووقف عند النقص في نسخته وأشار إليه، ولم تكن بين يديه نسخة تعينه على إتمامه، ثم تمضي السنون ويوفق الأستاذ محمد إبراهيم الحسين اليوم إلى الوقوف على نسخة خطية جديدة تُتِمُّ النقص، فينهض لإتمام العمل الذي بدأه الشيخ دهمان، وبذلك يكتمل البنيان.
