كتاب "أخبار لا يصدقها العقل"، سمة على مسمّى، ومرآة صادقة لمضمون متنوع وغني؛ جمعت فيه المؤلفة كل غريب عجيب، أو نادر خارج على المألوف، بعد أن تصفحت بإمعان عشرات الكتب في موضوعها، وبعد أن أخرجت من ذاكرتها عشرات القصص الغريبة، راجعة إلى مصادرها السياسية، وناقلة إياها بأمانة وصدق دون أن تعلق عليها تاركة أمر هذا التعليق إلى القارئ وحده. ولا شك أن بعض ما أوردته المؤلفة في كتابها هذا صحيح وواقع فعلاً، وبعضه الآخر قد يشك فيه غير واحد، ولكن السمة الجامعة لكل أخبار هذا الكتاب هي سمة الغرابة، والندرة بحيث لا يصدّق العقل بعضها، ولا يكاد يصدّق بعضها الآخر. وهي في الحالتين، عجيبة غريبة وطريفة في الوقت نفسه.
رجعت المؤلفة في اختيارها إلى عشرات المصادر، وكتب الأخبار، منسقة إياها بكتابها هذا في أبواب مستقلة هي: أخبار لا يصدقها العقل في التاريخ، أمور علمية لا يصدقها العقل، حوادث علمية غامضة، أخبار لا يصدقها العقل في الاحتيال، أخبار لا يصدقها العقل في التعذيب، أخبار لا يصدقها العقل في الظواهرية (الصحون الطائرة)، أخبار لا يصدقها العقل في الخروج من الجسد، أخبار لا يصدقها العقل في التقمص، أخبار لا يصدقها العقل في التشوهات الجسدية؛ أخبار لا يصدقها العقل عن عالم العمالقة وضخام الجثة، أخبار لا يصدقها العقل في الكوارث.
