بين يدي القارئ كتاب "المنتخب في علم الحديث" من تأليف العالم الإمام "رضي الدين أبي إسحاق إبراهيم بن محمد الطبري المكيّ"، يشتمل على عيون من علم الحديث، ونُبذٍ من مصطلحات أهله في القديم والحديث، مما لا بد منه، ولا غنى للمحدث عنه، جمعه المؤلف تبصرةً للمُبتدي، وتذكرةً للمنتهي، حاوياً لأكثر الفروع والأصول، مُرتَّباً على مقدمةٍ ومؤخرةٍ وفصولٍ.
وتكمن أهمية هذا المنتخب في أهمية الأصل، حيث انتخبه مصنفه من كتابه "الملخص في معرفة علم الحديث"، والذي لخّص فيه كتاب ابن الصلاح "معرفة أنواع علم الحديث"، فهو إنتخاب من "الملخّص"، كما نصّ على ذلك التّجيبي.
ولأهمية هذا الكتاب، اعتنى بدراسته وتحقيقه الدكتور "عواد الخلف" فعمل على ضبط نصه وترجم للمصنف، ووصف الكتاب ونسخه وخرّج النصوص، وقابل نسخ الكتاب وحرص على توثيق المعلومات.
