يشكل هذا الكتاب خلاصة تجربة مؤلفه مع مهنة الطب، فصاحب هذا الكتاب طبيب إستشاري في الطب الباطني والأمراض المعدية، حاصل على وسام الملك عبد العزيز من الدرجة الأولى وجائزة الأمير محمد بن ناصر بن عبد العزيز للتفوق العلمي في مجال الطب ... بالإضافة إلى تقلده مهام علمية عدة نظراً لتفوقه في حقل الطب، ولكنه هذه المرة حمل إلينا مفاجأة سارة من خلال نشره "ميلاد من أوراق طبيب" إذ يكشف عن موهبته في الكتابة وفي التعبير عن آلام المرضى وهو يسلك في سبيل ذلك سبيل الذاكرة المفتوحة على حالات إنسانية شتى لذلك فهو يعتمد السرد المفتوح، والكتابة الشذرية التي تتيح التنقل في يسر، بين سجلات مرضاه يتحدث عنهم، فتبرز من بين السطور "عائشة" وكرسيها المتحرك، و "ميلاد" التي حاولت أن ترفع يدها طلباً للمساعدة بعد أن سقطت أرضاً و "من الواضح أنها في المرحلة الثانية من الولادة لكنها لم تستطع حتى الصراخ من شدة الإعياء والألم" كانت نتيجتها ميلاد طفل وروح. و "السجين" الذي لم يتمكن من الحضور لمواعيد العيادة ولسان حاله يقول "أنسيت أني سجين، وأن حضوري إليك مرهون بموافقة سجّاني وتوافر الدورية ومزاج الضابط المناوب والحراس" وغيرها من حالات تعكس ملامح مهنة باعتراف الجميع من أشرف المهن.
من هنا يمكن اعتبار الكتاب صورة صادقة عن هموم وشجون مهنة الطب ورسالة يوجهها المؤلف إلى زملاء المهنة. ويقول المؤلف: والسؤال الذي أكرره كثيراً على نفسي وعلى زملائي في العمل: ماذا لو كنت أنا أو أحدهم المريض أو أحد أقاربه؟ وما الذي أريده من طبيبي المعالج وفريقه؟ وكيف أتمنى أن يكون تعاملهم معي؟ ... وأسئلة اخرى توضح واجبات الطبيب وأخلاقيات المهنة والأخطار التي يواجهها العاملون في المجال الصحي ... وغيرها.
