إن العثور على قلب مشرق يحب الله ورسوله بمثابة العثور على كنز بعد فقر وهوان، وأي كنز مهما بلغ قدره يساوي قلب مؤمن...؟ وقد سئل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: أي جلسائنا خير؟ قال: "من ذكركم بالله رؤيته، وزادكم في علمكم منطقه، وذكركم بالآخرة عمله". فاجتهدوا أن تعثروا على مثل هذه الكنوز الثمينة لتنالوا رضوان الله تعالى.
وكان الرجلان من أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا التقيا قرأ أحدهما على الآخر سورة العصر ثم يسلم أحدهما على الآخر. المؤمن يبحث عن أمثاله من المؤمنين الصالحين ويدعوهم إلى مجالس الإيمان، فهي البيئة المناسبة التي ينمو فيها الإيمان ويزداد ويتجدد. وكان عبد الله بن رواحة رضي الله عنه إذا لقي الرجل من أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: تعال نؤمن بربنا ساعة! فقال ذات يوم لرحل فغضب الرجل فجاء إلى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: يا رسول الله ألا ترى إلى ابن رواحة يرغب في إيمانك بإيمان ساعة؟ فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: يرحم الله ابن رواحة إنه يحب المجالس التي تتباهى بها الملائكة.
قال صلى الله عليه وسلم: "جلساء الله يوم القيامة الخاضعون المتواضعون الخائفون الذاكرون الله كثيراً، وقال صلى الله عليه وسلم: لا تصاحب إلا مؤمناً"، وقال: "مثل الجليس الصالح وجليس السوء كحامل المسك ونافخ الكير، فحامل المسك إما أن يحذيك، وإما أن تبتاع منه، وإما أن تشم منه ريحاً طيبة، ونافخ الكير إما أن يحرق ثيابك، وإما أن تشم منه ريحاً نتنة".
