يعد هذا الكتاب من كنوز التراث العربي التي تتحدث عن حياة نبي الإسلام محمد (صلى الله عليه وسلم) كُتب بالأصل باللغة الأوردية، وترجم إلى اللغة الإنكليزية على يد الأستاذ محمد يعقوب خان، إمام مسجد ووكنغ الحالي الذي نهض بهذا العمل بالإضافة إلى مهامه كمبشر إسلامي في ووكنغ. وهذه هي النسخة العربية من ترجمة "منير البعلبكي" وقد نقلها كما جاء في الكتاب عن المؤلف "مولانا محمد علي" الذي ترجم القرآن عن الإنكليزية وتحمل الترجمة إسم "القرآن الكريم".
وعود على بدء، يتحدث كتاب "حياة محمد ورسالته" عن حياة العرب قبل الإسلام، وحتى بزوغ فجر الإسلام على يد سيدنا محمد (صلى الله عليه وسلم)، ويتوزع على سبعة وعشرون فصلاً تشتمل على معلومات وافرة عن جزيرة العرب وأهميتها الجغرافية؛ ولماذا اختار الله أول بيت وضع للناس ببكة. وكيف بدأت رسالة محمد (صلى الله عليه وسلم) تنشر إلى العالمين، على الرغم مما واجه الرسول من تحديات، ولماذا عادت القبائل العربية الإسلام وقاومته في بداية الدعوة، وأهمية شخصية الرسول كمصلح "وما أرسلناك إلا رحمة للعالمين" وكيف أجمع أصدقاؤه وأعداؤه من الغرب والشرق على أن محمداً، "كان محمد، بين شخصيات العالم الدينية جميعاً، وأوفرهم حظاً من النجاح" في إشارة إلى العرب الذين كانوا غارقين في الجهالة قبل الإسلام، وجاء محمد وأنقذهم بكتاب الله "القرآن الكريم" وتعاليمه الروحية والوجدانية والعملية. وباختصار كما يقول المؤلف: فإن الرسول الكريم لم يدخر وسعاً في إقامة وحدانية الله ومجده، من ناحية، وإقامة الأخوة الإنسانية الشاملة في ظل عناية الإله الواحد الكلية، من ناحية أخرى. فليغدق الله عليه أطيب تحياته وخير بركاته".
