تشتمل الفصول الأولى من هذا الكتاب على كيفية التعامل مع برنامج ساب 2000 للقيام بالتحليل الستاتيكي للمنشآت المختلفة.
وقد تناول الفصل الأول مراحل استخدام البرنامج لهذا الغرض من خلال أمثلة تطبيقية من العناصر والعناصر المستوية. وقد تدرجت الأمثلة بالصعوبة بدءاً من الكمرات والبلاطات البسيطة إلى المنشآت الأكثر تعقيداً.. وكان الهدف من ذلك شرح وتوضيح أوامر التحليل وملفات النتائج من خلال أسهل الأمثلة, للإنتقال بعد ذلك إلى قراءة ومحاكمة النتائج من خلال المسائل الأشمل. وخصص الفصل الثاني لشرح كيفية التعامل من عمليات التحليل والتصميم الخاصة بالمنشآت الخرسانية. في حين خصص الفصل الثالث لتحليل وتصميم النشآت الفولاذية. كما أرفقت في نهاية الكتاب ثلاثة ملحقات تتناول بشكل موجز علاقات ومتطلبات التصميم في الكودات الأمريكية التي يعتمدها البرنامج حصراً لمنشآت الخرسانة والفولاذ. وقد تمت ترجمة هذه الملحقات من الدليل الإرشادي المرفق مع البرنامج بقليل من التصرف في صياغة العبارات, بغية تبسيط المفاهيم. كما أضيفت إلى بعض الفقرات عبارات توضيحية لتمكين المهندس العربي من تناول هذه المواضيع بصورة أكبر. ويفترض الكتاب أن القارئ يتقن إلى حد ما عمليات النمذجة في البرنامج من حيث رسم شكل المنشأ وتعريف المساند والمقاطع والحمولات المطبقة وذلك بعد اطلاعه على موضوعات الجزء الأول.
