إن اختيار المؤلف عنواناً لكتابه "قضية دولة القانون في الأزمنة اليمنية" يعني بوضوح أن تشخيصه للأزمة اليمنية لا يمكن تحليلها بدءاً من النتائج التي أفرزتها عبر إشعال الحرب ومحاولة الانفصال، وإنما من خلال معالجة الأسباب التي أدت إلى الأزمة ونتائجها.
إنه الكتاب الأول الذي يتناول موضوع الأزمة اليمنية من وجهة نظر غير رسمية للحزب الاشتراكي اليمني عبر رؤية شخصية للمؤلف، فإذا كان من الواضح في تحليله للأزمة أنه اتخذ موقف الدفاع عن الحزب الاشتراكي الذي ينتمي إليه بعضويته إلا أنه لم يظهر أي تعصب مفرط أو دفاعاً أعمى عنه، فقد استطاع بدرجة كبيرة من الموضوعية تحليل أبعاد الرؤى المتباينة والمتعارضة مع وجهة نظر الحزب الاشتراكي من قبل حزبي المؤتمر الشعبي العام والتجمع اليمني للإصلاح.
وهكذا فالمؤلف لا يعتبر أن الأزمة بذاتها هي الخطر على وحدة اليمن وأمنه واستقراره، وإنما على العكس إذ كشفت اللثام عن هذا الخطر، وبالتالي أتت وثيقة العهد والاتفاق لتعيد للوفاق الوطني اعتباره والذي كان يفترض أن يرافق قيام الوحدة.
