هذا الكتاب أول كتاب علمي من نوعه يعالج وباللغة العربية موضوعاً طالما مست إليه الحاجة وهو: قواعد لفظ اللغة الإنكليزية بناء على رموز اللفظ العالمية المميزة بقدرتها وليونتها لاعطاء اللفظ الصحيح لكل حرف أو مجموعة حروف بدقة تامة لا يتسنى لأي لغة إعطاءها بمثلها.
كتاب توخى فيه المؤلف الوضوح التام والسهولة في الأسلوب ووفرة الأمثلة ليكون ذلك بمثابة مثبت لقواعده.
يدرس هذا الكتاب بأحدث طريقة علمية قواعد لفظ كل حرف حين يكون وحده ثم يدرسه حين يكون مع غيره مجموعة لها لفظها الخاص بها ككل.
كتاب علمي معتمد على مصادر عالمية، لا غنى لكل مثقف عنه. ويدرس الكتاب كل من الأقسام التالية: الحروف الصوتية، الحروف الساكنة، بعض الفروق اللفظية بين اللهجتين البريطانية والأمريكية، ويختتم الكتاب بتمارين بالرموز اللفظية مع حلها، وتمارين بالرموز اللفظية دون حلها.
