كانت منطقة آسيا الوسطى أو الأناضول من البقاع الهامة والخطيرة في نفس الوقت من العالم القديم، حيث كانت تربط بين العالم الاسلامي والدولة البيزنطية العدو التقليدي والقديم للدولة الاسلامية، وكانت منطقة الاناضول منقسمة لعد إمارات في أغلبها ضغيف ومتفرق ولربما متحارب مع الجيران، وحالهل أشبه ما يكون بحال دولة الطوائف بالاندلس، فقيض الله- عز وجل- للأناضولالدولة العثمانية سنة 699 هجرية. كان أول من قاد الدولة العثمانية هو عثمان بن أرطغرل الذي حكمها من سنة 699 حتى سنة 726 هجرية، ومن بعد أورخان الأول الذي حكمها من سنة 726 حتى سنة 761 هجرية، وخلال هذه الفترة اهتم القائدان بتثبيت أركان الدولة الناشئة اجتماعيا واقتصاديا وسياسياً واداريا لذلك كان حجم الدولة العثمانية ما زال صغيرا ولم تحقق شيئا من أهدافها المعلنة وذلك لمراعاة سنة التدرج في قيام الدول والمجتمعات القوية الي سيناط بها بعد ذلك أعظم المهام الجسام.
