يعترف للمرأة بدورها الخلفي المساعد في صناعة العظماء وإبرازهم، حيث لاحظ العقلاء حضورا مميزا للمرأة في حياة الكثيرين من العظماء والزعماء الناجحين، فقالوا: "خلف كل عظيم امرأة".
ولكن هل يعني ذلك أن حظ المرأة من العظمة هو في حدود دورها الخلفي (اللوجستيكي)؟ وأنها غير مؤهلة للعظمة ذاتا؟ أو ماذا؟
إن العظمة تعني وجود مواصفات نفسية عالية، وامتلاك كفاءات ذهنية وعملية متقدمة، وإحداث تأثير فعلي هام على ساحة الحياة.
وبهذا المعنى للعظمة لا شيء يقصر بالمرأة عن بلوغ درجتها. والتاريخ يخلد لنا ذكرى العديد من النساء اللاتي ارتقين سنام العظمة، وبلغن ذروتها، كما لا يخلو حاضر البشرية من نماذج نسائية عظيمة.
وتأتي السيدة زينب في طليعة ومقدمة النساء العظيمات في تاريخ الإنسانية.
من هذا المنطلق، شرع "حسن الصفار" في إعداد هذا الكتاب، ليقدم من خلاله صورة واضحة مبسطة عن حياة السيدة زينب (ع) وابعاد شخصيتها العظيمة.
وقد اطلع حين إعداد هذا الكتاب على مجموعة من المؤلفات والكتابات عن شخصية السيدة زينب وحياتها، وكان في بعضها جودة وفائدة، لكن اعتماد بعض المؤلفين على الروايات غير الموثوقة، والمصادر الضغيفة واتباع طريقة السرد التاريخي والقصصي دون أي تحليل او استنتاج، ودون تركيز على المواقف والجوانب الأساسية في شخصيتها وسيرتها .. كل ذلك يجعل استفادة القارىء محدودة، والمعرفة التي يكسبها عن السيدة زينب غير وافية.
وإذا كان الإلمام بسيرتها، أو إبراز كامل حقيقة شخصيتها أمرا صعب المنال، فإن المطلوب هو بذل الجهد لرسم أجلى صورة عن ملامح شخصيتها العظيمة وسيرتها العطرة. وهذا ما قام به الكاتب.
