Book Description
يدرس هذا الكتاب جغرافية أفريقيا الإقليمية في ثمانية أبواب تضم عشرين فصلاً، وينقسم الكتاب إلى قسمين: أحدهما يشمل ثلاثة أبواب تضم سبعة فصول تتناول بالتحليل دراسة كشف أفريقيا وتطورها السياسي وملامحها الطبيعية والبشرية، أما القسم الثاني فيدرس الجغرافيا الإقليمية لدول القارة جنوب الصحراء، وينقسم إلى خمسة أبواب تضم ثلاثة عشر فصلاً يجرس كل منها مجموعة من الدول يضمها إقليم واحد مثل إقليم غرب أفريقيا وإقليم وسط أفريقيا، وإقليم أفريقيا الجنوبية وإقليم الزمبيزي-اللمبوبو، ثم إقليم شرق أفريقيا، ومن الواضح أن القسم الثاني يدرس الدول غير العربية في القارة-وليس ذلك اتجاهاً للفصل أو نزعة للتقسيم بين أفريقيا العربية وغير العربية، بل محاولة لدراسة دول لم تلق كثيراً من الاهتمام في معظم الكتب العربية لتعدد هذه الدول وصغر أحجامها حيث تختطها الأمثلة التي أعطيت من قبل كنماذج لبعض أقاليم القارة في الشمال أو الغرب أو الشرق أو الجنوب، وفي نفس الوقت فقد اكتفيت بدراسة أفريقيا العربية ضمن القسم الأول من الكتاب في إطار التحليل الأفقي المقارن للقارة.
وقد حرص على تزويد الكتاب بعدد من الخرائط والرسوم البيانية بلغ عددها نحو 77 شكلاً، حتى يسهل فهم المتن أثناء القراءة.
