هذا الكتاب هو دليل مصور شامل عن تحكيم الجواد العربي فيه المئات من الصور والأشكال التخطيطية، والوثائق التراثية عن هيئة وطبيعة وشكل الحصان العربي في صورته المثالية أو ما يعرف بالــType، فالتحكيم علم وفن وفراسة، يهدف إلى تطوير الخيل وتوليد سلالات عالية الأصالة والجمال.
والعرب هم أعرف الناس بمواصفات الخيل معرفة الرجل بأهله، وخيولهم هي الخيل العراب التي ركبوها وكاثروها من عهد سيدنا إسماعيل حتى اليوم، ولهذا نرى أن تحكيم الخيل العربية ينبع بالأساس من علم الفراسة في تراث العرب.
نقل التجار والرحالة الغربيون الجواد العربي إلى بلاد الغرب، وأقاموا المرابط لتربيته، والنوادي من أجل رياضة الفروسية، كما نقلوا معه مصطلحاته ومسمياته التراثية، وصاغوها هناك صياغة معاصرة بعنوان: علم تحكيم الجواد العربي.
أعد الكتاب لتحقيق الأهداف التالية:
1-ليرصد علم التحكيم في تراث العرب، وجهود الرحالة الفرسان وتجار الخيل الغربيين في نقل الجواد العربي إلى بلادهم، كما يلخص أهم النظريات المطروحة بشأن التحكيم.
2-العمل لإنصاف الجواد العربي وإعادة الإعتبار إليه، فهو لم يخلق للجمال وحده بل للسباق والحرب والمطاردة، وقطع المسافات الطويلة، والقدرة والتحمل.
3-ليكون مرشداً للتحكيم المباشر، ولتعلم مهارات التحكيم الذي يحتاجه الهواة والمختصون بأن واحد، وليكون منطلقاً لدراسات قادمة بإذن الله تعالى، ولهذا أثرنا أن يكون سهل العبارة، رشيق الحرف، واضح المدلول، معبراً عما كُرس من أجله.
