يتألف هذا المقرر من ست وحدات رئيسة، فالوحدة الأولى هي مقدمة حول أهمية إستصلاح التربة في زيادة الإنتاج الغذائي وذلك من خلال زيادة المساحات الزراعية، وفيها حديث عن مصادر المياه المتاحة لمشاريع إستصلاح الأراضي في الوطن العربي، أما الوحدة الثانية فتناقش مصادر الأملاح الذائبة في التربة من الأمطار، والتجربة الكيميائية والرسوبيات الملحية، وتدخل الإنسان، كما أنها تبحث في الإتزان المائي والإتزان الملحي وإشتقاق معامل الغسيل، والوحدة الثالثة من هذا المقرر مخصصة للتربة المحلية من حيث إستجابة النبات للكرب الملحي، وتقييم هذه الإستجابة بطرق شتى مثل نمطي ماس وهوفمان وغيرهما، وإستصلاح التربة الملحية وفي الوحدة الرابعة ستدرس التربة الصودية والقلوية بدءاً من بيان العلاقة بين صودية مياه الري وصودية قطاع التربة، ثم تدرس الآثار السلبية لمياه الري على صفات التربة الطبيعية، وأخيراً إستصلاح التربة الصودية والقلوية.
أما الوحدة الخامسة فهي مخصصة لدراسة التربة الغنية بالبورون فهي تبدأ أوّلاً بكيمياء البورون في محلول التربة، وتناقش إستجابة النبات لمستوى البورون في محلول التربة، وتبين أخيراً أساليب وكفاءة إستصلاح التربة الغنية بالبورون.
وتصف الوحدة السادسة المعايير المتبعة في تقييم صلاحية مياه الري.
