توزَعت الرواية على سبعة وعشرون فصلاً، يتناول كل فصل حالة تعبيرية معينة، أو يطرح فكرة، ويجيب عليها بلغة مطعمة بصور تشخيصية يغيب عنها الحوار المباشر مثل: "الناس الذين ينسحبون من الحياة يعيشون لحظات من الإرهاق والتوتر حاملين المنَ السماوي. إنما عليهم التزام بعض القواعد الصارمة، ومن يعلم إن لم قواعدك هي حالة الاحترار التي تفرق نفسك فيها والتي تؤتي ثمارها في النهاية. كلا، ليست سوى مجرد هدنة، ثم لا تلبث الأرواح المضطربة أن تنبعث مجدداً. جزء من ذاتك سوف يحييها. لكن ليكن سكون في هذا المساء، توهَم السكون على الأقل...".
وعليه، تكون رواية "في حضن الجنية" زمناً للقراءة والحياة في النص الجميل.
