Book Description
الممدود: على ما اتفق عليه أهل النحو، كل اسم كانت في آخره همزة بعد ألف زائدة، كقولك: مُرّاءٌ ورِداءٌ وعِلْباءٌ وحُمرّاءُ.
والمقصور، على ما اتفقوا عليه، كل اسم كانت في آخره ألف في اللفظ، زائدة كانت أو غير زائدة، كقولك: مَلْهىً ومَرْمىً ومَغَّزىً وبُشرَى.
هذا القصد الذي بيناه في تقويم اللسان وتصحيح الكلام هو الذي دعا أبا العباس ابن وَلاّد (توفي سنة 332هـ) إلى تأليف (المقصور والمدود) بقسميه، ذكر في القسم الأول ألفاظ المقصور والممدود غير المقيسة، أي الألفاظ التي تعرف بالسَّماع والحفظ فقال: "فابتدأنا فيه بما كان متفرقاً منثوراً، مما لاحَدَّ يحصره، ولا قياس يجمعه، لأن طريقه التي يُعْلَم منها السماعُ فقط، فالمسألة عنه أكثر، والعناية به من المسائل أشدّ".
وقد رتب ابن وَلاَّد هذا القسم على حروف الهجاء، وجعله "مؤلفاً على حروف المعجم، ليقرب وجود الحرف على طالبه، ويسهل إستخراجه من موضعه" كما قال، فجاء القسم أبواباً متوالية من باب ألف إلى آخر الحروف، وهذا القسم هو محتوى الكتاب، والذي رصد فيه مؤلفه ألفاظ المقصور والممدود في اللغة، وحشدها مشفوعة بالشواهد الكثيرة من الأشعار والآيات والأحاديث والأمثال وغيرها.
أما في القسم الثاني فذكر المؤلف "ما يُدْرك علمه من المقصور والممدود مجملاً بالعلامات، فيستغنى فيه عن السماع مع حفظ العلامة" وحقاً ذكر هنا بعض المبادئ والقواعد والعلامات والأوزان لمعرفة المقصور والممدود من الكلام بالقياس، ثم رسم أصولاً وبيّن موازين لتثنيتها وجمعها.
ولأهمية هذا الأثر عني بتحقيقه الدكتورة عزة حسن عن مخطوطة فريدة مرويّة عن المؤلف بعنوان (مراد ملا) وهو منقولة عن النسخة التي كتبها لنفسه أبو الحسين المهلبي الذي سمع الكتاب من شيخه أبي العباس ابن ولاد، ورواه عنه وكتبه مباشرة.
وبناءً عليه، يمكن القول إن كتاب المقصور والممدود لأبي العباس ابن وَلاّد بقسميه، وزيادات أبي الحسين المهلبي فيه، وكذلك الزيادات المستقاة من كتاب المقصور والممدود لابن خالويه والمنزلة في حواشيه، وتحقيق وشرح الدكتورة عزة حسن، صارت بمجموعها كتاباً واحداً، جاء أوفى وأغنى وأجدى وأيْسَرَ كتاب في باب (المقصور والممدود في لغة الضاد).
