قد حاولت وأنا أقرأ السيرة أكثر من مرة أن أقف عند بعض أحداثها التي يمكن أن تظل بوارقها رائقة ونيرّة، تكتب للأجيال قدرة الإنسان وهو يجابه التحدي، وترسم له طريق الخلاص وهو يقع في قبضة الحيرة القاتلة، وتبني له حياة السعادة وهو يتخبط في أسباب التنازع.
فكانت هذه الفصول التي استمدت صورتها وتفاصيلها مما كتبه القدامى من المؤرخين وأصحاب السير وتأملوها أحداثاً كبيرة واستوعبوها صوراً خيرّة لأنني اعتقد أن التحليل الذاتي لهذه الأحداث والتناول الذي يعطيها بعيداً جديداً أو يحقق لها حضوراً في السفر التاريخي المنظور يمثل الوجهة التي نظرت من خلالها إليها وقرأت في بعض مفرداتها حقائق الوجود الذي أعطى السيرة هذا التواصل ومكنها من التعبير عن الوجدان الإنساني الحي؛ وهو ما أرجوه لهذه المواقف....
