في هذا الكتاب، نستعيد محمد كروب الكاتب القصصي الذي لم يتابع كتابة القصة، فإذا بنا نكتشف أن غريزة الفنان التي فيه، تأخذه مجدداً إلى أمواجها، فنرى معه أن الفن ليس لعباً فقط، بل هو لعب على شاطئ الحب، وكشف في مجهول الآخرين، نتعرف على الكثيرين من توفيق يوسف عواد إلى حسين مروة، ومن صلاح جاهين إلى غسان كنفاني، لكننا نتعرف أيضاً إلى محمد كروب الذي يحوّل الثقافة ومبدعيها إلى موضوع لإبداعه هو، فيختلط الإبداعان في لحظة نادرة.
وإذا كان في هذه النصوص بعض التفاوت، فإن ما يوحدها ويجعلها كتاباً خاصاً ومختلفاً، هو نبرة الحب التي تلفها كلها، كأن دكروب يقول لنا إن الكتابة يجب أن تتكون من جديد بوصفها إبداعاً وأرض لقاء.
