في مجموعته القصصية المعنونة "أنا .. وحرامي روما" يبني مصطفى جوني عالمه الروائي على تجربة خاصة عاشها في أثناء رحلته الدراسية إلى إيطاليا في سبعينيات القرن العشرين، فاتخذت (بارما – المدنية) فضاءً ممتداً، للقاص، ورمزاً للبحث عن الماضي، والحياة القائمة على الإختلاف، بين شرق وغرب، على صعيد العلاقات الإنسانية، وتفاصيل الحياة اليومية، وكل شيء يشي بذلك؛ عبر علاقة تأثر وتأثير بأجواء المدينة، التي جعلت في ذات القاص نوعاً من التلاحم بينه وبينها، بتاريخها وحضارتها وثقافتها، ومن هنا تتأتى قدرته في وصف علاقته بالمكان وقد برزت في معظم النصوص، مركزاً للإشعاع الفني والجمالي الذي يخاطب به القارىء بحس مرهف، وشعور رقيق، على درجة ذرف فيها دموعه في كل مرة يعود لزيارتها "في كل مرة كنت أزورها فيها وأسمع عتابها، هكذا كان يحدث لي خلال زياراتي المتباعدة لها، سأدفن حكماً في أرض أجدادي، إلا إن روحي ستبقى ترفرف فوق إيطاليا، وبالأخص بارما (Parma) ، بولونيا (Bologna) وفوق حبيبتي روما، (...) وخوفي من أنا تمحو السنون ذاكرتي، كان كتابي "أنا وحرامي روما" يحمل على أوراقه بعضاً مما حدث لي خلال دراستي هناك".
وعليه، وزع المؤلف رحلته على خمسة عناوين هي: 1- صديقتي باولا، 2- جاري طونينو، 3- حب في المستشفى، 4- أنا وحرامي روما، 5- ألفونسو وريتا.
… سأُدفن حكماً في أرض أجدادي، إلّا أن روحي ستبقى ترفرف فوق إيطاليا كلها، وبالأخص پارما (Parma)، بولونيا (Bologna) وفوق حبيبتي روما، قسمة طالما حلمت بها بعد عودتي من وطني الثاني إلى وطني الأم. لقد قلت عن روما يوماً: Roma e’ una bella ragazza che non dorme mai (من المقدمة) مصطفى جوني، لبناني، درس الهندسة …
