This book is a grammar book addressed to university students in general and students majoring in English in particular. In fact, this book may be useful to any person interested in improving his English and especially his grammar.
The book consists of twenty-two units, each of which includes twenty items. Each item has four entries, marked a, b, c, and d.
Entry (a) is a sentence that may or may not have a grammatical mistake. Most sentences are grammatically wrong, and they need correction. Grammatical incorrectness includes errors in punctuation. Spelling mistakes or vocabulary-choice mistakes are not included in entries (a).
Entry (b) gives a blank line where the correction is to be written. If the sentence in entry (a) is correct, the word "Correct" is written in Entry (b). If entry (a) is the stimulus, entry (b) is the response.
Entry (c) gives the correct answer. It is the immediate feedback that instantly comes after the responding attempt. Entry (c) gives the learner the opportunity to immediately know whether his answer is right or wrong.
Entry (d) completes entry (c) by giving the justification for the correct answer mentioned in entry (c). Entry (d) explains the grammatical principle that underlies the correct form provided in entry (c).
This book, generally speaking, is more advanced than the author's book Improve Your English. Thus, it is advisable to use this book after going through the material of Improve Your English.
It is a book with 500 grammar rules and patterns, depending on error correction and immediate feedback. It is unique in technique and structure: Read th sentence, correct it, see the right answer, and then understand the grammar rule. It can be used as a textbook for university students (the English Department). It is a continuation of Improve Your English.
