يحاول المؤلف في هذا الكتاب إبراز ما للإسلام من دور هام في الناحية النفسية الصحية للإنسان وذلك من خلال دراسة نفسية يلمس القارئ على ضوئها أن للإسلام عقيدة وسلوك أطيب الأثر في حياته النفسية وفي تمتعه بالصحة النفسية والعقلية والصحة الإيمانية. وقد جاءت تلك الدراسة ضمن ستة فصول، والحديث دار في الفصل الأول حول الفضائل الإسلامية وأثرها على الصحة النفسية، وتناول الفصل الثاني البحث في الآثار النفسية لحياة التدين، وجرى في الفصل الثالث الحديث حول الإيمان والصحة النفسية وتلاه في الفصل الرابع دراسة نفسية مقارنة لمفهوم الحب عند ابن حزم، وتناول الفصل الخامس معالجة التجربة الذاتية وأثرها على الفكر التوحيدي ليخصص الفصل السادس والأخير لدائرة معارف الصحت النفسية.
