د محمدالتونجي دكتور في اللغة العربية وكاتب ولد في مدينة حلب عام 1933 وتلقى تعليمه فيها وتخرج من جامعة دمشق حاملا الإجازة في اللغة العربية ودبلوم التربية ونال الدكتوراه في الادب الفارسي من طهران وأخرى من الجامعة اليسوعية وعمل مدرسا ووكيلا لكلية الاداب ونال العديد من الجوائز من مختلف الدول وله مؤلفات كثيرة.وهو يدرس اليوم بجامعة الشهباء الخاصة بحلب مادة أخلاقيات المهنة .

يحتل هذا المعجم مركز الصدارة في البلاد التي تتعامل مع الفارسية دراسة ولغة. وقد ضم أكثر من عشرة آلاف لفظة، تغني الباحث وتسهل له مطالبه. وجرت المنهجية فيه على الشكل التالي: 1-إنزال اللفظة العربية كما هي متداولة من غير تجريد، أو إحالة إلى الأصل الذي اشتقت فيه، تخفيفاً على الباحث. 2-إنزال المصطلح أو التركيب كما هو في مكانه بحسب التسلسل الألف بائي، ذلك أن المصطلحات مهمة جداً للباحث العربي، كما لا يمكن إحالتها أحياناً إلى أصولها، ولا سيما إذا كانت مركبة، 3-وضع عدة مترادفات فارسية للفظة العربية الواحدة، وللباحث أن يختار منها ما شاء، وكل ذلك مناسب. 4-تحديد المعنى الدقيق للكلمة العربية الواحدة التي لها عدّة معانٍ خاصة، 5-ضبط المفردات العربية لتحديد المعنى المطلوب من جهة، وللتخفيف عنه استخدام رموز لتحديد نوع اشتقاقها، وهل هي مصدر، أو اسم، أو فعل. وقد أول واضع المعجم هذه النقطة اهتماماً لتلافي اختلاف المعاني باختلاف الحركات، 6-بعض الكلمات العربية لم يتم شرحها إلا بعدّة ألفاظ فارسية، وسبب ذلك إما قلة عدد مفرداتها بما يعادل خمس المفردات العربية، وأما لأن الفرس يكثرون من استخدام الكنايات في كلامهم، 7-ضبط بعض الألفاظ الفارسية الضرورية، كما يسلم الباحث من أيّ خطأ قد يقع فيه، 9-وضع معنى اللفظة العربي الصعب على فهم البعض عقب الكلمة بين هلالين، 10-الاعتناء باختيار الألفاظ الفصيحة، دون إغفال ترجمة الكثير من الألفاظ المستحدثة، والمعربة، والعامية، إدراكاً من المؤلف لأهمية ما يجب أن يضمه المعجم.
