وللمضي قدماً في عملية البحث هذا قسمت الدراسة إلى خمسة فصول حيث خصص:
الفصل الأول للتعرف على ماهية التنظيم الدولي وطبيعة منظمة الأمم المتحدة.
وكان الفصل الثاني لدراسة ظاهرة العولمة وما جلبته على الأمم المتحدة من آثار وتداعيات.
وتناول الفصل الثالث الأدوار المستجدة، أو التي باتت الأولوية في جدول أعمال الأمم المتحدة وسياساتها في إطار العولمة، زاستقصاء الميادين والمجالات السياسية والإقتصادية والإجتماعية التي غدت المنظمة العالمية تنشط فيها.
وتم في الفصل الرابع استعراض بنية وطبيعة العلاقة التي تربط الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية بالأمم المتحدة.
ورصد المزيد في الفصل الخامس الرهانات المستقبلية الملقاة على عاتق منظمة الأمم المتحدة انطلاقاً من تحديد سبل وطرق التطوير، لكي تظل هذه المنظمة صرحاً ونواة للحكومة العالمية.
