كتب عبد الله المحيميد تحت عنوان "دندشة السيارات"... وكلمة دندشة عامية شائعة، ويقصد بها الزخرفة سواء بالألوان والملصقات أو كتابة بعض العبارات على "بدن" السيارة، بمعنى أشياء زائدة على تصحيحها الأصلي. فمثلاً يتم "تكميل" المصابيح الأمامية باللون الأحمر والأزرق والأخضر، ويوضع عليها "رموش" معدنية فيخيل أننا نشاهد عينان بشريتان.. وعجلات السيارة تغطى بغطاء معدني هنا وهناك.. وتكتب بعض العبارات على "الصدام" مثل: "عين الحسود فيها عود، يا مسافر الله معاك أو خذني معاك"، وجمل أخرى تتعلق بالحب والهوى... ويتم تتويج كل هذا بـ ريش النعام المنصوب على الغطاء الأمامي لكن لماذا هذه الظاهرة التي عمت جميع المدن والقرى؟! في ظني أن "دندشة السيارة" ليس لها علاقة بالذوق أو بالمخيلة الجمالية الخصبة أو هي دلالة على وضع اجتماعي معين، وإنما "الدندشة" لها علاقة بـ"أنسنة التقنية" فالسيارة أول حدث تقني يدخل بلادنا ويهز مشاعر الناس ويروعهم بالصميم، ويذكر عبد السلام عبد العالي "أن التقنية تمس الكائن ذاته ومصيره" ويضيف "التقنية موقف أو وضع انطلوجي يمس هوية الكائن وعلاقته بنفسه، وبغيره من الكائنات" من هذا المنظور الفلسفي "للتقنية" يمكن القول أن الناس حينما "دندشة" السيارات أرادت "تأنيسها" لتكون جزء من ثقافتها، محاولين قدر المستطاع فصلها أو انتزاعها من بعدها "التقني" أو ذلك "المتخفي" الذي سيغير مجالات الحياة عندهم.
نصوص أو مقالات عبد الله المحيميد تأخذ شكل قراءات سوسيولوجية سيكولوجية فلسفية ونقدية في الثقافة والمجتمع السعودي. تناول الكاتب مناحي متعددة في الحياة الاجتماعية السعودية وعلى سبيل المثال دون الحصر تناول نكاح المسيار وشخصية المفتي والعمدة وتحدث عن الاستراحات وعن الكتابة على الجدران وعن الإعلانات وعن أكل الجراد وعن البحث عن الفقع وعن ظاهرتا الكشتة والبلوت في المجتمع السعودي وعن مسلّة الرياض وعن مسلسل طاش ما طاش وعن وعن... وجاءت كلماته عميقة المرمى لتكون بمثابة نقد اجتماعي واعي لا يقف عند حدود الظاهرة بل هو يتخطى خطوطها الأولية في محاولة لاستشفاف ما ورائياتها.
