تتحدث الرواية عن رحلة لجوء سيدة فلسطينية، هربت مع أطفالها من قطاع غزة أثناء حرب 2014 وتمكنت من دخول مصر رغم الحصار المحكم على القطاع ثم هروبها إلى أوروبا عبر البحر المتوسط وما تكبدته من مشاق، وأخيراً وصولها إلى النرويج وما تعرضت له كي تصل إلى الحلم المنشود.
في الخطاب الروائي يتموضع الراوي العليم ليروي لنا واقع قاس لا يزول وحلمٌ بعيد المنال لا يتحقق، وأحداث ومواقف درامية جرى التعبير عنها بلغة سردية مباشرة تسمي الأشياء بأسمائها، وشخصيات تتفاعل مع الأحداث، وتفعلها، وتنفعل بها، كما يبرز دور الحوار في النص، لينسجم مع طبيعة الحدث، والعالم المرجعي الذي تحيل إليه الرواية...
