فالبسملة فاتحة الكلام، بل فاتحة لكل بداية، والتحميد تذكرة لآلاء الله السابقة، وأول كلام آدم عليه السلام، وأول من يدعى إلى الجنة الحمّادون وفي هذا الموضوع جاء هذا الكتاب. وللربط الحقيقي بين البسملة والحمدلة وبين الاسم الأعظم أضاف المؤلف في اثني عشر أمراً عبر عن ذلك كله بالمقاصد الثمانية للبسملة وبالمطالب الأربعة للحمدلة، كما وبحث عما يمت بصلب الموضوع من مناسبات داخلية وخارجية.
