نحن العرب كنا أول من وضع أسس العلوم الإجتماعية منذ ابن خلدون، واستفقنا بعد زمن طويل من إهمالنا لها، وعدم إدراك أهميتها وضرورتها، فوجدنا أننا متخلفون كثيراً عما حدث بشأنها في بلاد المغرب.
إلا أن تطوير هذه العلوم في بلادنا يحتاج إلى جهود جبارة متواصلة، ومن هذه الجهود نقل أهم المؤلفات في العلوم الإجتماعية إلى اللغة العربية مضافة، بالطبع، إلى جهود البحث والتأليف.
فالنقل، إذن، ضروري لإطلاع القارئ العربي والعادي والمتخصص على ما جرى إنجازه حتى الآن في مجال هذه العلوم.
وهدفنا الثاني من إصدار هذه الموسوعة هو إغناء المكتبة العربية بالآثار العلمية في حقل العلوم الإجتماعية.
وعلى الأخص في حقل المناهج حيث أننا لا نجد مؤلفاً في اللغة العربية بهذه الشمولية.
