"وأطوف بحرك والهوى لَعِبٌ، وسفينتي أحلامها ذهبُ، هُزّي الرياح تقع على كتفي وأصابعي في الماء تلتهبُ، صدري ضلوع الناي، بحر شجىً ينمو على شطآنه القصبُ، والناي تنفث آه غربتها، لماها المشتهى العِذابُ، فارمي الشراع، يطْرِبنا هُدُبٌ وتأملي ما يبدع الهُدُوب، وخذي يد الرمح امتداد غوىً ونلم خيل الموج! ما العجب؟! لي دمعةٌ في الباب حائرةٌ تنداح في جرحي وتختصب، حَملتْ خريف الورد، راودها، وطنٌ حسير الوجه، مكتئبٌ، لم يلتئم جرحٌ بمقلته، وجفونه الأشواك والتَعَبُ، هذي الدماء تنز من وترٍ، آه، فكيف يهزنا الطربُ".
