الفيومي (000 - نحو 770 هـ = 000 - نحو 1368 م)
أحمد بن محمد بن علي الفيومي ثم الحموي، أبو العباس: لغوي، اشتهر بكتابه (المصباح المنير - ط) ولد ونشأ بالفيوم (بمصر) ورحل إلى حماة (بسورية) فقطنها. ولما بنى الملك المؤيد إسماعيل جامع الدهشة قرره في خطابته.قال ابن حجر: كأنه عاش إلى بعد 770 هـ.
وعلق (محمد بن السابق الحموي ؟) على إحدى النسخ المخطوطة من الدرر الكامنة بأنه توفي في حدود 760 وفي كشف الظنون: فرغ من تأليف المصباح في شعبان سنة 734 وتوفي سنة 770 وله أيضا (نثر الجمان في تراجم الاعيان - خ) أجزاء منه، بلغ في آخرها سنة 745 و (ديوان خطب - خ) بدأ بتأليفه سنة 727

Book Description
تولي "مكتبة لبنان" التراث العربي بعامة، والمعاجم بخاصة، اهتماماً بالغاً وعناية فائقة، وهي تفعل ذلك لقناعتها بأن الخطوة الولى من التجديد تقوم على بعث التراث وإحياء خير ما فيه: نشراً وتجديداً وتحقيقاً ودراسة. وقد وقع اختيارها اليوم، على نشر معجم "المصباح المنير" للفيومي، ليكون بين أيدي الطلاب، خصوصاً وأن وزارة المعارف العمومية بمصر، كانت قد قررته في مدارسها، لسهولة استعماله وثروته النحوية والفكرية.
والفيومي هو العالم أحمد بن محمد بن علي المقري الفيومي، نسبة إلى فيوم العراق لا إلى فيوم مصر، نزيل مدينة حماة، وهو من علماء القرن الرابع عشر، توفي 770هـ/1368م. وقد اعتمد في تأليفه نحو سبعين مصنفاً ما بين مطول ومختصر. وكتابه هذا الذي بين أيدينا "المصباح المنير" يعد من أهم مصنفاته اللغوية الموجهة للطلاب، وبالعودة لترتيب هذا الكتاب نجد أن الفيومي قد اهتم برتيب مواده وفقاً لحروفها الأصول... كما أكثر بجمع الأحاديث النبوية فيه، إلى جانب هذا اعتنى بإبراز المعاني الفقهية إلى جانب المعاني اللغوية. وتوسع في المشتقات والتزم الإشارة إلى أبواب الأفعال كأن يقول: دف: من باب، قتل، وأكثر من ذكر جموع الأسماء والصفات، ومن التفصيل في المسائل اللغوية والصرفية والنحوية.
أخيراً ذيل معجمه بخاتمة وصرفية شاملة تشير إلى عمق ونضج وسعة في الفكر.
