"إذ قال إبراهيم لأبيه آزر: أتتخذ أصناماً آلهة؟ إني أراك وقومك في ظلال مبين". كذلك نرى إبراهيم ملكوت السماوات والأرض وليكون من الموقنين.
فلما جن عليه الليل... رأى كوكباً.. قال هذا ربي. فلما أفل.. قال لا أحب الآفلين.. واتخذ الأفول مبرراً على أن الخالق يجب أن يكون ثابتاً لا يزول. وكان حقاً جواباً هزّ فيهم الشعور بالإيمان بمستوى أرفع.. ولكن رفضوا. أما هو، فوجد هناك جماعة يعبدون القمر الذي يطلع عليهم، فيخرون له ساجدين راكعين، ويتضرعون، ويدعون إليه لحل مشاكلهم وأمورهم وقضاياهم.. فهو اتخذ نفس الأسلوب الأول.. وانتظر الأفول لإلقاء الحجة.
فلما رأى القمر بازغاً قال: هذا ربي.. فلما أفل قال: لأن لم يهدني ربي لأكونن من القوم الضالين!. فيكيف أعبد إله تحجبه طيات السحاب.. وهو بالتالي يأفل ويرتمي بأحضان المغيب .
وكذلك سلك طريقاً إلى جماعة يعبدون "الشمس" فاتخذ نفس الطريقة التي اتخذها مع أولئك الآخرين من الاندماج معهم، ثم مخالفتهم، وإلقاء الحجة عليهم بالأفول، لكي يتركوا من أفكارهم ويوجههم إلى عبادة الله الواحد القهار.
فلما رأى الشمس بازغة قال: هذا ربي.. هذا أكبر.. فلما أفلت قال: يا قوم إني بريء مما تشركون. فتح لهم نافذة للخلاص.. وشرح لهم مقدساته الطاهرة. "إني وجهت وجهي للذي فطر السماوات والأرض.. حنيفاً وما أنا من المشركين".
ولكنه واجه الإصرار الشديد من قبل قومه.. فأخذ يتابع خطواته من البداية وحتى النهاية.. ولم ينهار في المقاومة من أجل الله.. وبقي صامداً في وجه التحديات الطاغية، منذ صباه، عندما تفتق فكره للأفق.. وشرب معين الإيمان.. وذاق طعم العقيدة.. ولذة التوحيد.. ونكهة الوجود.
