رغم كل المحاولات التي يقوم بها الصهاينة لطمس تاريخ فلسطين فإنهم لم يتمكنوا من حجب حقيقة أن أرض فلسطين عربية منذ فجر التاريخ، وإن الشعب الفلسطيني شعب عربي أصيل، هاجر من الجزيرة العربية إلى فلسطين منذ القديم، والكنعانيون هم أجداد الفلسطينيين، وقد كانوا أول من هاجر إلى فلسطين في حدود عام 2500 قبل الميلاد.
وموقع فلسطين الجغرافي الذي يتوسطالعالمين العربي والإسلامي، أكسبها أهمية خاصة فهي ممر للكثير من الدول والحضارات المتعاقبة، كما إنها بمثابة القلب للعالمين العربي والإسلامي، وهي نقطة إرتكاز أساسية في أي عملية توحيد سياسية للأمة العربية.
من أهمية توعية الأجيال المتعاقبة بحقيقة أن فلسطين عربية من النهر إلى البحر، إتخذ مؤتمر القمة الإسلامية قراراً بتدريس تاريخ فلسطين وجغرافيتها في مختلف المستويات التعليمية، فكان هذا الكتاب الذي يتألف من ثلاثة مستويات، الأول موجه للمرحلة الإبتدائية، الثاني للمرحلة المتوسطة، الثالث للمرحلة الثانوية.
والكتاب الأول، يتألف من ثلاثة أبواب، الباب الأول يتضمن تعريفاً بفلسطين أرضاً وتاريخاً، أما الباب الثاني فهو مخصص لتاريخ فلسطين عبر العصور، بينما يتناول الباب الثالث، قيام إسرائيل وإحتلال فلسطين كما يبين أثر التحالف البريطاني الصهيوني ووعد بلفور في إقامة الدولة الصهيونية.
أما الكتاب الثاني فهو يبحث المواضيع نفسها ولكن بشكل موسع يتلاءم مع مستوى إدراك الطلاب في المرحلة المتوسطة.
أما الكتاب الثالث فقد عني بشكل خاص بتاريخ فلسطين الحديث والمعاصر وهو موجه لطلاب المرحلة الثانوية.
