الحكم العطائية لابن عطاء الله السكندري عبارة عن حكم منثورة على لسان أهل التصوف وطريقتهم، وهذا الكتاب هو بمثابة شرح مطول ومتوسع للحكم العطائية أيضا شرحها مصنفه بطريقة صوفية مستفيضا في ذكر الآيات والأحاديث والأشعار الصوفية. وموردا أقوال علماء التصوف وحكمهم. وصاحب "الحكم" هو الشيخ تاج الدين أبو الفضل أحمد بن محمد بن عبد الكريم بن عطاء الله الإسكندري الجذامي الشاذلي، الشهير بابن عطاء الله. وهو صوفي مشارك في أنواع من العلوم كالتفسير والحديث والفقه والنحو والأصول.
أما صاحب الشرح فهو الشيخ أبو العباس أحمد بن عجيبة الحسني الإدريسي الشاذلي الفاسي ولد سنة 1160 هـ، وتوفي في 7 شوال سنة 1224 هـ، من مصنفاته عدا "إيقاظ الهمم": البحر المديد في تفسير القرآن المجيد، شرح الآجرومية في النحو.
