استحق صحابة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الفضل والشرف فأثنى عليهم الله تبارك وتعالى في كتابه العزيز وشهد لهم بالإيمان والإخلاص والصدق والمسارعة إلى الخيرات. ولقد أدرك الصحابة (رضي الله عنهم) أنهم يحملون رسالة عظيمة فبذلوا مل طاقتهم لتعلم القرآن وتعلمه وسارعوا إلى تبليغ وتعليم ما سمعوه من آياته، ومع الصعوبة المتضمنة في محاول إحصاء أسماء الصحابة الذين كانت لهم جهود في تعليم القرآن الكريم فقد حاول المؤلف جهده في هذا الكتاب للتعريف بجهود الصحابة الأجلاء في هذا المجال.
فقدم للقسم الأول من كتابه بالحديث عن فضائل الصحابة في القرآن الكريم وفي السنة النبوية قبل أن يبين العوامل التي شحذت هم الصحابة الكرام وقوت عزائمهم في تعلم القرآن وتعليمه وفي مقدمة هذه العوامل عقيدة الإسلام والفرح بالقرآن الكريم واليقين بأنه نعمة عظمى إضافة إلى تدبر القرآن وتذوق حلاوة الإيمان واعتبارهم مسألة تعريفه تكليفاً وتشريفاً.
لينتقل بعد ذلك إلى الحديث عن المنهج النبوي الذي سار عليه الصحابة في تعليم القرآن الكريم وضرورة إتقان التلاوة وتجويدها إذ أمر الله سبحانه رسوله الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يرتل القرآن متأنياً في تلاوته مبيناً لحروفه، يقرؤه على الناس على تمهل حتى يتسهل فهمه وحفظه وإتقان تجويده. أما الجزء الثاني فلقد خصصه المؤلف لتصوير مشاهد من حياة الصحابة حيث يتحدث عن تراجم أبرز قراء الصحابة وجهوده المباركة في تعليم القرآن الكريم والعناية به.
