الكتيب هو فصول مختصرة في كيد الشيطان، وتلاعبه بهذه الأمة، يعرف بها المسلم الحنيف قدر نعمة الله تعالى عز وجل عليه، وما منّ به عليه من نعمة العلم والإيمان ويهتدي بها من أراد الله تعالى هدايته من طالبي الحق في هذه الأمة. والكتاب متن وشرح. وصاحب المتن هو عبدالله بن أحمد بن قدامة الجماعيلي المقدسي ثم الدمشقي الحنبلي، فقيه من أكابر الحنابلة ومنها "غرم الموسوسين" الذي شرحه الإمام ابن قي ذم الجوزية في هذا الكتيب. والشارح هو محمد بن أبي بكر بن أيوب بن سعد الزرعي الدمشقي، أبو عبد الله من أركان الإصلاح الإسلامي، وأحد كبار العلماء، مولده ووفاته في دمشق، تتلمذ لشيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية حتى كان لا يخرج عن شيء من أقواله، بل ينتصر له في جميع ما يصدر عنه. وهو الذي هذب كتبه، ونشر علمه، وسجن معه في قلعة دمشق، وعذّب لسببه، وأطلق بعد موت ابن تيمية ، له تصانيف كثيرة.
