الغرض الذي كرس له هذا البحث يتمثل في صيغة السؤال التالي: ما هو أثر عمل المرأة وغناها على استحقاق النفقة الزوجية بعد أن أقر الإسلام لها حقها في العمل والاكتساب المفضي إلى الغنى ضمن الضوابط والآداب الشرعية المعروفة؟
وللإجابة على ذلك السؤال، فقد صيغ هذا البحث ضمن إطار فصلين مستقلين شكلاً معاً الخطة الموضوعة للبحث، فبعد المقدمة شرع بتقديم تمهيد عن أهم المصطلحات البحثية المتعلقة بالموضوع، وأتبعه بذكر مشروعية النفقة في الإسلام، ثم افتتح الفصل الأول بمبحث أول دار البحث فيه عن سبب وجوب هذه النفقة، أما المبحث الثاني فكان عن شروط وجوب هذه النفقة مشيراً إلى افتراق المالكية عن جمهور الفقهاء في تعداد وصياغة هذه الشروط. وتناول المبحث الأول من الفصل الثاني أثر غنى المرأة على استحقاقها النفقة، وكان المبحث الثاني في تقدير النفقة الزوجية، أما المبحث الثالث فكان عن أنواع النفقة الزوجية في خمسة مطالب، وتحدث المبحث الرابع عن أثر عمل المرأة على هذه النفقة، وإتماماً للفائدة أرفق به مطلبين عن الضوابط الشرعية والآثار الإيجابية والسلبية لعمل المرأة، وذيلت ذلك بالخاتمة ونتائج البحث، فالفهارس العامة للبحث (آيات، أحاديث، مصادر ومراجع، موضوعي).
