إن معرفة الله عز وجل آنس من كل وحشة، وصاحب من كل وحدة، ونور من كل ظلمة، وقوة من كل ضعف وشفاء من كل سقم. عندما يستقر في النفس أنها تعيش مع ربها المحيط بباطنها وظاهرها، وتأنس لهذا الأمر، تبدأ لديها حالة خاصة تحديداً عند من تمكن من الوصول إلى هذه المرتبة، فتعيش الخلوة بالله وإن كانت تحيا في محيط الناس، فالإنسان يولد فرداً ويموت فرداً ويصل إلى الله فرداً.
عند ذلك ينصرف اهتمامها لإصلاح الفاسد منها والالتزام بالصحيح متوجهة إلى ربها بذكر لا يحجبه عنها حجاب، وهي في سبيل ذلك تعمل على كشف عيوبها ودراستها دراسة واعية مستفيضة تبحث فيها عن كل خلل ومسبباته وتدخل في ورشة إصلاح للنفس قد يستغرق عمراً بكامله.. وهذا أول الطريق الذي يشير المؤلف إليه في هذا الكتاب الذي يتحدث فيه عن إنسان اليوم الذي تشغله الحياة المادية فتحجب عقله عن التوجه الصحيح إلى الخالق، فيهاجم من قبل جند الشيطان الذين ينصبون لها الفخاخ في كل الخطوات، فيحصل لديها التقصير من إدراك حيلهم وخداعهم وتزيينهم الأمور، فتختلط الألوان ويصعب التمييز وتضيع معالم طريق حياة الأيام الآتية. لذا كان على المؤلف أن يأخذ القارئ في رحلة وجدانية ليصحح مسار حياته من خلال منهج يمكنه أن يعيش دنياه دون أن يخسر آخرته.
