"الكتاب الأسود" عبارة عن مجموعة قصص قصيرة من أدب الرعب، تضم تسعة قصص متنوعة لأشخاص مرّوا بتجارب غريبة من العالم الآخر أو أمور نفسية حدثت لهم غيّرت مجرى حياتهم، بعض هذه القصص من الواقع والبعض الآخر من نسج خيال المؤلفين.
من الكتاب نقرأ: "… بينما هو يتوضأ سمع صوت صراخ زوجته الحادّ أمل وهي نائمة وتقول بصوت رجل: يا كلب يا ابن…. أتحسب أنني سأتركك هكذا؟ لن تجد مني إلّا العذاب يا ملعون… أوماً نارصر برأسه إلى الأرض وهزّه يميناً وشمالاً بيأس وتعب شديدين واتكأ على المغسلة مردداً بصوت خفيف وكأنّه يخاطب نفسه: متى سأنتهي من هذا العذاب؟".
