هذه رسالة قيمة جامعة، فيها غرر ناصعة، وفوائد نافعة، ألفها علم من أعلام القراءات، انتهى إليه علم القراءة والتجويد في وقت من الأوقات، وهو الشيخ ناصر الدين محمد بن سالم بن علي المصري الأزهري المعروف بالناصر الطبلاوي (المتوفي 966هـ)، الفقيه الشافعي، والحافظ لمنقولات العلوم الشرعية والصوفي الزاهد، الذي جمع إلى سعة العلم الصلاح والتقوى والكرامات والمتبحر في أسرار القرآن وفنونه، والمربي المعمر الذي ألحق الأبناء بالآباء، فكان نمطاً فريداً في العلم والتقوى والتدريس إزدان به القرنان التاسع والعاشر الهجريان.
ألف رسالته التي نقدمها اليوم وهي (مرشدة المشتغلين في أحكام النون والتنوين) على نحو جمع فيها بشرح وتفصيل، وكثرة استشهاد وتمثيل، كل ما يتصل بأحكام النون الساكنة والتنوين، مما يحتاج إلى معرفته جميع القراء والمجودين، وأضاف إليها مباحث نفيسة بكلمات جميلة أنيسة، مما استطرد إليه، أو قامت الشواهد عليه، ليستكمل فوائد هذا الباب المفيد، من أبواب علم القراءة والتجويد، فكانت بحق مرشدة المشتغلين في بيان أسرار الكتاب المبين، ومرجعاً مهماً للمتخصصين.
وبالنظر لأهمية الرسالة فقد اعتنى "محيي هلال السلاحان" بتذيلها بتحقيق لطيف حيث اهتم بالتقدم للرسالة فصل تحدث فيه عن المؤلف وحياته وشيوخه وتلاميذه وعصره ومؤلفاته ووفاته، وخصص آخر للحديث عن أهمية الرسالة وخصائصها وأشهر المؤلفات في موضوعها ولبيان نسخها الخطية ومنهج تحقيقها.
