يسلط هذا الكتاب الضوء على مكانة ومنزلة وموقع الإمام الحسين رضي الله عنه في الإسلام، ويرتكز في خطابه على ما يورده المؤلف من حديث: كان الإمام الحسين يوماً مقبلاً على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، في وقت خلوة مع ثلة من خُلصِ أصحابه. فنظر إليه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال: "مرحباً بك يا أبا عبد الله، يا زين السماوات والأرض" من هنا اختار المؤلف عنوان كتابه "الإمام الحسين زين السماوات والأرض" يشرح المؤلف هذه العبارة ويوضح للقارئ بالأدلة والشواهد: "كيف يكون الإمام الحسين عليه السلام هو زين السموات وهو زين الأرض لأنه هو في السمايء أكبر منه في الأرض"، ومن ثم يعرج على أهمية أن يكون لرسول الله خليفة وما معنى "يخلف مقام رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم اثنا عشر إماماً يتولون تربية الأجيال على قيم الإسلام (...) حتى تنطبع النفوس على قيم الحق، وتعتاد المجتمعات على الصلاح، وتثمر فيها مناهج الاقتصاد الراقي، وتتألق فيها معالم الاجتماع المتحضر، وتبدع فيها السياسة الإنسانية الناضجة، فيُلقي ذلك كله آثاره على الواقع"، عبر هذه النفحات الإيمانية تدور موضوعات الكتاب التي ترتكز على منهج وعقيدة آل البيت عليهم السلام مع حقائق من التاريخ الإسلامي وقصص وعبر وحكم ومواعظ وغيرها.
