وهذا الكتاب حوارات أجريتها، في النصف الأول من عقد التسعينات، مع نخبة من القيادات الدينية، والمجاهدين، والمفكرين الإسلاميين، فضيلة الشيخ أ.د يوسف القرضاوي، مدير مركز بحوث السيرة والسنة-جامعة قطر، فضيلة الشيخ الدكتور سيد طنطاوي، مفتي جمهورية مصر العربية وشيخ الجامع الأزهر، البابا شنودة الثالث، بابا الإسكندرية وبطريرك الكرازة المرقصية، الأستاذ خالد مشعل، عضو المكتب السياسي لحركة حماس-الأستاذ محمد نزال، ممثل حماس في الأردن. ضمن برنامج (حوار في قضية) عبر تلفزيون قطر.
ولا بد لي أن أشير، في هذه المقدمة الموجزة، إلى بعض حلقات البرنامج أو أجزاء منها لم تدرج ضمن سياق هذا الكتاب لأسباب وجيهة، منها تلف بعض الأشرطة بسبب الحرارة والرطوبة الناجمين عن عدم التقيد بشروط حفظها وتخزينها في أرشيف الكاتب.
أخيراً، قد يسأل سائل: لماذا يصدر هذا الكتاب بعد نحو عشر سنوات من تاريخ البرنامج؟ وأجيب: لأن هذه الحوارات كانت وما زالت تسلط الضوء على القضايا نفسها التي شغلتنا وتشغلنا اليوم، كما أنها تستشرف آفاق المستقبل المنظور الذي نأمل في أن يكون مشرقاً وعزيزاً يليق بهذه الأمة العريقة.
