يحاول البحث تفكيك بنية الرؤى الإستشراقية بغية الكشف عن الخطابات الثاوية فيها والمتخفية تحت ستار دعوى المنهجية العلمية والحياد الموضوعي، فإن مجرد تحليل رؤية ما بصورة موضوعية وتعرية خفاياها المتجاوزة للموضوعية، يمثل في حد ذاته تحييداً لها وتذويباً لحدتها؛ لأن التفكيك يهشم وحدتها وصلابتها المدعاة؛ ولكنه لم يكتف بهذا التفكيك الذي تناول الجوانب الأنتروبولوجية والسياسية والدينية، بل تجاوز إلى طرح رؤية إيجابية تجاه بناء أساسيات الواقع الفكري للإسلام ومرتكزاته الرئيسة.
كما قدم هذا البحث محاولة جادة لبناء منهج وإيضاح رؤية من منطلق سياق حضاري إسلامي، يتجاوز الأحكام الإنفعالية، والرؤى السطحية، المليئة بالشعارات والقوالب الفارغة، وإنما النظر إلى الإسلام بوصفه قيمة معرفية وإرتقاء حضارياً يتوقف على عملية دفع حقيقية، وهذا الدفع لا يمكن أن يحصل من دون إعادة بناء الوعي والكشف عن البناء المعرفي العالمي للإسلام.
